I can’t get enough of this site. I’ve raved about it to several friends over the past couple of weeks and I’m hoping they love it as much as I do. Co-founded by Zooey Deschanel, it’s a site that features quite a plethora of information. Daily entries like the Item of the Day and the Illustrated Tweet of the Day never disappoint and the video karaoke series is always fun to watch. With a vast array of contributors from Zooey Deschanel herself to Kat Denning and even a 12 year-old, the views and commentary expressed are always entertaining.
The Change Up
A movie with Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds? That’s all I needed to know.
The Host by Stephenie Meyer
I know this book has been out for several years, but I’m just getting to it. I had always heard good things about it, but just never gave it a second thought until a coworker brought it to me this week and practically ordered me to read it. I’ve read a couple of chapters so far and while I’m still not too sure what exactly it’s about, I’m intrigued.
Party Down on DVD
This show is so wonderful. It’s one of those smart TV shows that got canceled way too soon (thanks a lot, Starz) and always leaves you wanting more. With Adam Scott, Lizzy Caplan, Jane Lynch, Martin Starr and a Veronica Mars reunion in almost every episode (I love you Rob Thomas) there’s really nothing to dislike about this short-lived series. Last week I bought both seasons for $14.99 TOTAL at Target. Are we having FUN yet?!
Web Therapy on Showtime
What started out as a web-series in 2008 is now a full-fledged TV series airing Tuesday nights on Showtime. Lisa Kudrow has made another great decision in her post-Friends career and I’m hoping this will stick around longer than The Comeback did. She plays Fiona Wallice, a therapist who chooses to speak with her patients for only three mintues over iChat. Hilarity and awkwardness follow and the cherry on top is Victor Garber as her husband, Kip (KIP!) And with cameos from a list of who’s-who among the Hollywood elite, you never know what to expect.
